Just Breathe

At this time the day after tomorrow I will officially be able to say, "I planned an entire event by myself." I shouldn't be this stressed because this is what I'll be doing with my life for the next 40+ years. If y'all don't know, I am currently going to college and majoring in communication with a concentration on public relations with a minor in business. I'm also in a sorority, where I hold an officer position as philanthropy chair. This position is within the public relations department, so it's the best experience I could get. Since I got my position in November, I have been planning this volleyball tournament for all of the Greek organizations to participate in. This is our 2nd one, so everything is still in the "learning process." I have put in so much time and effort into making this event more than a success. I know this event has my sorority's name all over it, but it's really my baby. So if it fails, I fail.

The past couple of days I have been under a lot of stress. There have been a few scares and bumps in the road, and it has just been hitting me pretty hard. I know this is what I have to do with my life and that's the scary part. I'm what you would call a perfectionist. So if I'm under this much stress for something like this, how am I supposed to handle something 10 times bigger in the future? So far everything is getting done and everything seems to be on track, I just feel like I'm doing that 150% I promised.

Today was definitely my breaking point. My phone rang for literally the 14th time (it wasn't even noon yet) and I just couldn't take it anymore. I turned off my phone, threw it at my wall and just cried. I want to prove to everyone that I am capable of making something small and turning it into something they love. And by small I mean there will be almost 300 people there. I have always been a people pleaser, so that is always running through the front of my mind.

I decided to go for a run, because sports has always been my get away from life. And since I don't start softball until next Tuesday, this is what I was left with doing. I grabbed my iPod, put on my tennis shoes, and I was out the door. I ran and cried, prayed (yes, I sometimes pray while I run) and had my iPod playing. One song came on that just hit me more than anything.

"Dare You to Move" by Switchfoot

A specific lyric came on that felt like He was listening to me and was giving me the answer. "I dare you to move, I dare you to move. I dare you to lift yourself up off the floor. I dare you to move, I dare you to move. Like today never happened, today never happened before." I knew I had to get it together and just forget everything that happened today. I know that I am capable of making this event a success. Everyone believes in me, I just want to find a way to prove that to myself.

Weekend Haul!

I'm sitting here back in my pajamas, watching an old episode of The Hills. I spent my Sunday going to Church, and having some intense retail therapy. I haven't really purchased a lot of products in a while, so I figured I would reward myself. Here is everything I got:

My first stop was ULTA! I really didn't have anything I just HAD to have, so I of course practically spent over an hour in there trying to figure out what I wanted. I got a few nail products, from left to right: OPI Rosy Future. This is such a pretty baby pink with a blue-ish and purple-ish undertone. The perfect color for spring! Next is the Seche Vite base coat and then the top coat. I've heard so many good things about those two so I'm really excited to try them! Last but not least, I got OPI Drip Dry. I've never tried this, but I've heard that this things does wonders. The perfect product for a girl who is not patient what so ever. Haha

I picked up two perfumes. I debated on getting these because I already have enough perfumes, but I just couldn't help myself. The first one I got was Fancy by Jessica Simpson. This is probably going to be one of my new favorites. It's just a girly smell and I love it!! I also got Vera Wang Glam Princess. To be honest, one of the main reasons why I got this perfume was because of the packaging. It's so simple, but yet it's so cute! The smell is definitely worth the purchase!

I was looking through the drugstore makeup section because I was looking for some eye shadows and I saw the perfect combination!! I got this palette because I figured it would be a great way to try more than one eye shadow for a good deal!

Last but certainly not least, I got probably the greatest purchase I've gotten in a long time. I finally got the Clarisonic Mia!! I absolutely LOVE it and I haven't even used it yet!! I'm already looking forward to my bedtime routine! It's so cute and seems like it will definitely be useful. It comes with a cleanser, that I'm going to try out tonight. I have pretty sensitive skin, so if that doesn't work I'll probably stick to my Neutrogena products. But I am so beyond happy that I finally got this! Every time I go into ULTA I stare at it, hold it and contemplate buying, but I never have until today. And I'm really glad I decided to get it.

I went to the mall because I had some extra time, and it was just right down the street from ULTA so I went in the intention of buying one thing but... well... you'll see.

At Sephora I picked up NARS blush in Deep Throat. I have been meaning to get this for a while, but every time I go in there they NEVER have it!! Well luckily today they had it. It's just a pretty pink and will of course look good this spring! I also got the NARS nail polish in Orgasm. I've never bought a nail polish by NARS, but since I own everything else from the Orgasm collection, I just had to get it. It's a really nice baby pink color and I'm excited to use it!

I got the travel DKNY perfume in Be Delicious and Fresh Blossom. I already have the regular size of Be Delicious, and it's one of my favorites. I've been wanting to try Fresh Blossom so I figured this would let me have the best of both worlds (no Hannah Montana reference added) This is perfect for my purse and both smell amazing!!

I made a quick stop into Betsey Johnson because it kind of seemed like it was just calling my name! (Just kidding) I was just looking around and saw the cutest keychain! It goes so well on my keys and driving home I couldn't help but stare at it! Well of course when I wasn't driving and concentrating on the road like I'm supposed to (:

Of course I had to stop by MAC because I can't leave the mall without at least looking! I went there with the intention to only get ONE thing but ended up leaving with 3. So typical. I got Fix+ because I ran out of my last one and I can't go on without it! If you don't own this, you need to go out and get it! It's a really good $18 investment! I picked up 2 lipsticks, Creme d' Nude (left) and Hue (right). Both of these lipsticks have been at the top of my shopping list and I finally got them!! They're both amazing nude colors and I can probably guarantee that they'll be perfect with anything!

FINALLY I had to stop at Target to pick up some white strips because I was out and I just so happened to walk over to the makeup section considering they're right next to each other and I picked up 2 lipsticks. Revlon Soft Nude (left) and Revlon Baby Pink (right) I already had Soft Nude, but mine accidentally melted so I just had to get a new one because it is honestly my favorite drugstore lipstick!

I plan on doing a review on a few of the products I mentioned, so be on the look for those. I have a pretty hectic week ahead, so there might not be that many posts as I want. I have plenty of ideas for blog posts that I'm anxious to get out but for the next week I'm going to have a hard time fitting them all in.

FTC: I purchased everything with my own money, nothing is influencing my opinion and I'm being 100% honest!!

It's time for my Lush bath, face mask, and NOW I get to say that I get to use my Clarisonic! Have a good night everyone!!

Workout Blog 1

Lately I've been trying to get really motivated to start working out because as all of y'all know, summer is about 2 months away. Technically it's almost about a month and a half away because I get out of school in the very beginning of May. I cannot believe that this semester and so far this year has flown by so fast! So to get into the "I want to get healthy" mode, I decided to buckle down and get motivated. I have to thank Elle or better known as Allthatglitters21 for helping me. Her health videos are really what made me want to actually get down to business with this.

I guess the first sign that I should've started this was when I suddenly started receiving "Women's Health" magazine in the mail. I never subscribed to it, and supposedly I'll be receiving it until September. I didn't really read them until recently. If you've never read one and want to get healthy, I highly suggest it! It gives really good tips! I'm actually getting all of my daily routines and healthy food ideas from Seventeen magazine. I've been a subscriber for years and so I have millions of magazines that have different health plans and different ideas. So now that I have all of these resources it's finally time that I do something about it!

I'll be joining the gym in the next couple of weeks, which I have to say I'm really excited about. I do pay for the rec center at my school, because it is in my tuition, but I just never have time to go. I live about 30 minutes away from my school and when I'm there it's only for school because since I only have classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays I'm there ALL day! So I definitely don't have time to use the gym there. Luckily I have a gym literally 3 minutes away from my house, so I'm looking forward to using that!

Now that I basically have all of the resources I need, I decided that the next step was for me to create a playlist on my iPod for music to listen to while I workout. Because if you're anything like me, you NEED to have something exciting and fun to listen to while you work out. So for the past couple of hours I was going through over 4,000 songs that I have and I picked out a bunch of songs that I am going to love to listen to while I GET FIT! Here's my playlist as of today. It might change as time goes on, but I think I have plenty of options to keep me busy for a while (WARNING: This is the most random list you'll ever see):

Makeup of the Day - March 16, 2010

Today was a pretty relaxed day. I didn't really do much until my mom called me on her way home and told me to get ready because she wanted to go out to dinner. Since I really didn't have much time, I got up, put my hair up, got dressed and put on my makeup. I decided to stick to a pretty neutral look (like always haha) since me and my mom weren't going anywhere fancy.

Here are the products I used:

Blush: MAC Smooth Merge MSF
Highlight: Fresh Twilight Glow
Primer: Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin
Base: NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in French Fries
Eye Shadows: MAC Honey Lust, Mulch, and Shroom
Eye Liner: Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Liner in Broubon
Mascara: L'Oreal Telescopic and Fresh Supernova
Lipstick: MAC Myth
Lipgloss: NARS Turkish Delight

How to: The Eyes
- First you want to prime your lid with Urban Decay Primer Potion in the color Sin.
- On the lid, apply NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in French Fries and smooth it out with your fingers on your lid.
- Apply MAC Honey Lust over French Fries and blend it into the crease.
- Take MAC Mulch and lightly add it to the outer corner, and blend it into your crease. You want this part to look very natural so make sure to blend out any harsh lines.
- For a highlight, take MAC Shroom and apply it right below your brow line.
- Next, apply your Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Liner in the color Bourbon to your lower lash line, your tight line, and LIGHTLY add it to your upper lash line.
- For mascara, take L'oreal Telescopic and apply it to your lashes and then apply a coat of Fresh Supernova. This will lengthen and volumize your eyes!

How to: Cheeks
- Take MAC Smooth Merge MSF and apply it lightly to the apples of your cheeks. You want to be careful with this because this is very shimmery and you don't want your face to look like a disco ball! Especially if you're planning on wearing this during the day.
- For a highlight, add a small amount of Fresh Twilight Glow to your cheek bones and bring it up to your temple. This stuff looks amazing in the sun and gives you that dewy look!

How to: Lips
- I just used a little bit of MAC Myth Lipstick with NARS Turkish Delight to give me a pink nude lip to finish off the look. This combination is amazing for a relaxed day or even a day at the beach! It gives you a great shine and the right amount of color for that nude look!

I hope y'all like these Makeup of the Day blog posts. If you want to see more, please feel free to let me know. If you want to see any other looks, I would love to try something new!

xoxo,
Brandy

Please ignore how red I look in this picture. I promise I don't look like this everyday. I went camping this past weekend and got some sun! And as for my hair, I didn't feel like doing it, so it's just up in a ponytail.

Did you ever consider taking make-up classes?
Yes, but I have never gotten around to it. I would love to take a few PRO classes at mac!

Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?

Haha not usually

People who look orange because of their bronzer, face makeup that is NOT the color you should be wearing, sloppy eye shadow, lip liner that doesn't go with the lipstick

Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?

I prefer more of a neutral look, but there are times that I want to spice up my look and add color.

I absolutely adore Kim Kardashian's makeup, and Lauren Conrad's makeup for everyday looks.

If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use?
Lipgloss. Always makes me feel pretty lol

Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?
I sometimes do, but I prefer makeup, even if it's just lipgloss or some concealer. It's just not a life or death situation if I don't have it on.

Do you think you look good even without any makeup on?
I have enough confidence to say I do.

In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?
MAC - Obviously. But I am branching out a lot and I have been loving a lot of different brands.

What do you think of Makeup??

I think it is a way for a girl to be unique and for them to express their style

New Blog!

Lately I have been noticing that a lot of people have been using their blogs a lot more frequently, and I feel like I left mine abandoned, and that I really didn't put much attention into it. I went through and deleted all of my previous posts and decided that I was going to start over. I never really had a "trend" of how the posts were, everything was just too random, and half of it wasn't really blog worthy. So from this day forward, my goal is to put a lot more effort into this, and to make it worth reading.

This blog is going to consist of things going on in my life, beauty topics and tricks, health related topics since I'm going to start working out more, and just a lot of random things that I want to share with everyone! I don't make YouTube videos, so I figured since I love the concept of it, I will express my opinions and such on this.

If you want to know a little bit more about me, you could follow me on Twitter! I update this more than anything, so you'll be able to see first hand what's going in my life. I also have a Formspring, so feel free to ask me anything (that I haven't already answered before) and you could even request something for me write about.

Brandy
